Held my mothers 60th birthday here and it was perfect exactly what we wanted, we had the use of the side room the creamery and had 13 people for Sunday lunch. Tracey and John took over end of last year and brought their own chef along with them! They are very freandly and warm! They really have done a great job the food was delicious we were looked after so well very happy!Also big portions without skimping on quality
Not good food veg was soggy and tastes. Requested medium steak got exceptionally rare. Staff forgot about drinks excuse was 'I was chatting'.- Christmas Dinner
For us, whilst there was little wrong with the meal we had, the food and service lacked something of the calibre, balance and finesse we experienced under the previous ownership. It will be interesting to see how the business evolves once the new owners have had more of a chance to make their mark.
The host is really nice and helpful but the rooms are a bit old. As well I've tried a couple of times to take a shower in the night but I've had only cold water. Don't know if they had a problem at the time but still...
Family of 5 who went for an evening meal yesterday (Saturday) evening. The new owners made us feel very welcome right from the start and couldnt do enough for us. The dinners were outstandingly tasty and very generous portions. The decor with its open fires makes this pub restaurant an excellent choice if you are looking for great food and excellent service in a comfortable friendly setting. 5 stars all round.
