Popped in for some building materials today. Wanted to share what a little treasure this place is. Eveything you could possibly need. And if they dont have it they will go the extra mile to try and get what ever it is you need. Cant express how helpful, knowledgable and friendly ALL the staff were. Will definitely make this my no1 stop for any building materials i may need. And will be returning very soon.
What a brilliant place! I have never seen a more well stocked builders merchants. And the prices all seem pretty competitive too. The staff however is where I think this places really shines. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. They also know a lot about the products they are selling. Whenever I've needed a bit of help or advice there is always someone there who is happy to help me out.I can't recommend this place enough. All the yard staff are very patient running around helping me find the right timber. The decorating department is fantastic the chap who runs it is very helpful and I've never not got the colour I wanted. The guy who runs the trade counter is brilliant and is always so cheerful, all the other counter staff really are just as fantastic helping me when I need it.They've got people there with expert knowledge in plumbing, tools, timber, they even have a gent who is brilliant with key cutting. Seriously even on the phone I've had all my calls answered quickly and professionally. 100% visit fairalls for their great customer service if nothing else. Its fantastic.
If I could give this builders merchants zero stars I would.! Went for an interview there, got there early ( better then being late) they made me stand in the middle of the shop floor waiting for a guy called Alistair to interview me for a whole 20 minutes! Very very embarrassing just standing there. Why not ask me to sit down somewhere and wait for him. Anyway when he finally turned up I was highly distressed. It was very disturbing the way they treat perspective employees. Interview was a shambles. 3 of them sitting there including the director. Not interviewing me felt more like a cross examination. 3 weeks later and they still haven't contacted me with the outcome. Absolutely disgusting company and I would advise anyone to swerve this company to work for..... finally at a interview today got there a bit early but the first thing they say is "have a seat would u like a tea or coffee" TAKE NOTE FAIRHALLS DONT EMBARRESS yourselves TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT & DIGNITY DESPITE THEY'RE BACKGROUND AND ETHNIC ORIGIN!
